"GO" has been our theme in pursuing Great Commission opportunities in cross-cultural settings. The challenges are great, but behind these challenges are opportunities that compel us to "GO."
The current population of China alone exceeds the entire world’s population when the Great Commission was first given. Civil wars continue to abound in Africa where rampant disease and famine are common. An increasingly secular Europe finds itself unable to resist the zeal of an increasingly militant Islam. Around the world, repressive regimes continue to hold their own people in bondage. Meanwhile rampant materialism threatens to reduce the west to a culture obsessed with comfort to the detriment of hard work and sacrifice.
The obstacles are real. But peel away these obstacles and you will find a situation that is unprecedented in the history of the Great Commission.
